On Saturday, October 12th, OHoops (a Professional Basketball Training Facility out of Orlando, Florida) hosted their first annual OHoopin’ for the Cure 3 v 3 Tournament to help raise money for the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation out of Miami, Florida.
With overwhelming support from multiple sponsors, the 12 team tournament was an indicator of how caring and generous the Orlando Community can be. As a result this support, the tournament was a tremendous success.
Team Push, sponsored by Trapp Law Firm, would eventually emerge victorious in the championship game, but the highlight of the event happened after the tournament came to a close.
Brian Leitten, Co-Chair of the Education Committee for the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation, was invited on to the court to join Team OHoops as well as Marquel Jones and Jocelyn Caraballo from Hoop Culture, during our Donation Ceremony. He was then presented with a check for $1,000 dollars to be donated to the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation. The donation will help fund research and raise awareness for breast cancer throughout the state of Florida.
Again, OHoops couldn’t have done it by themselves. As a result of the community’s overwhelming support, OHoops is confident that this will become an annual event. Everyone that came out was truly OHoopin’ for the Cure!
